Market Day Magic at Crimson AGE School

A CGA Milestone: Market Day Brings Our Community Together 🌟

What a day it was! The inaugural Market Day at Crimson AGE marked a truly special moment in our CGA journey — the first time we’ve brought students from across our schools together under one roof. As the day unfolded, we witnessed something magical: a vibrant community materialising before our eyes.

From our CEO to our newest team members, the spirit of collaboration was infectious. Watching Principals, deputies, teachers, and parent helpers all working alongside students was heartwarming. Everyone pulled together with one goal: creating an unforgettable experience.

Our halls transformed into a buzzing marketplace as students set up stalls of every kind. From handmade slime and jewellery to ginger beer, firewood bundles, cupcakes, clay creations, and even 3D-printed gadgets, every table told a story of creativity and hard work. Six-year-olds ran their stalls with the seriousness of small business owners, while older students pitched their products like seasoned entrepreneurs.

Families came from near and far, including students travelling from as far as Tauranga and Wanaka, which gave the day an energy that felt bigger than one school — it was the whole CGA community in action.

Learning You Can’t Get From a Textbook 📚

Market Day gave students the full experience of running a business: coming up with an idea, creating products, setting prices, and working with real customers. The buzz in the air was unmistakable: a perfect mix of unity, entrepreneurship, and fun that showed just how much can be learned by doing.

The Sponge Toss Showdown ☔

If Market Day had one clear winner, it was the sponge toss. Students lined up for the rare chance to soak their teachers, and they didn’t hold back. Buckets of water flew, laughter carried across the campus, and by the end of the afternoon more than a few brave staff looked like they’d gone for a swim.

The Results: $5000 Raised 🎯

By the end of the day, students had raised an incredible $5000. More important than the number, though, was the sense of pride, as every dollar represented teamwork, problem-solving, and the joy of creating something real.

At Crimson AGE, Market Day reflects our wider philosophy: education should be hands-on, connected, and empowering. Students leave events like this not only with stronger entrepreneurial skills, but also with confidence, resilience, and the knowledge that learning can be exciting and meaningful.
