A Revolutionary Approach To Education
Crimson AGE School is an independent private school on Auckland’s North Shore. Students from Years 1–13 are guided through small, ability-based classes to develop core academic skills alongside real-world problem-solving, critical thinking and social skills.
With small classes made up of an 8 students to 1 teacher ratio, personalised pathways, and hybrid learning options (Takapuna campus and online via our custom-made school platform), students learn and progress at the pace and rigour that fits them.
At Crimson AGE School, we nurture students with the skills and confidence to thrive in a rapidly changing world. Our students love our campus and the breadth of subjects and skills they can master; from robot-building with 3D printing to beach excursions and a market stall day. They are building real-world skills to take confident strides into their future.
Our approach builds both academic and social-emotional skills, ensuring students leave empowered, community-minded, and ready for the future.
Why did we create AGE School?
We truly believe that education should support academic performance by also helping students to develop purpose, wellbeing and real skills for the future.
We believe education should evolve to meet the needs of a changing world. At AGE School, we focus on teaching the skills children need to thrive in modern society – fostering creativity, adaptability, and a love for learning.
We offer a more student-centred approach by staying small, focused, and innovative – allowing us to personalise learning and truly support each child’s growth.
We’re passionate about giving children – and our communities – the best possible chance of success.
Many parents did not have positive experiences at school and want to ensure their children feel more inspired through their learning.
In a technology-based future, it’s never been more important for students to develop their EQ and "soft skills" as much as their IQ.
We’re excited to introduce our new principal, Lisa Squire and would love for you to take a moment to get to know her
My name is Lisa Squire, and I'm absolutely delighted to be joining you as Principal. I'm coming up to 30 years in education, and it's been quite a journey! I've been fortunate to work across various settings, from schools, education consultancies and even with universities supporting teacher training and school leadership development. I was part of the foundation team at Hobsonville Point Schools, which was an incredible experience in building something totally new from the ground up.
Throughout my career, I've developed a real passion for the role of technology in learning, but I also deeply value approaches like Reggio Emilia that put relationships and creativity at the heart of education. For me, it's all about balance, honouring both innovation and the human connection that makes learning meaningful. I've had wonderful opportunities to explore effective school models overseas and to work with schools here in New Zealand as they establish themselves or reimagine their teaching and learning. I believe there's always something new to learn and ways we can grow together.
What drew me to Crimson Age, this beautiful school, was clear during my visits. I was so impressed by the students, their confidence, their warmth, and the way they engaged in conversation with me. The whole team deeply cares. It was a real testament to the relationship-based approach and the nurturing of individual strengths, talents, and needs that happens. I feel incredibly fortunate to be joining this community.
My role with Crimson Academies means I'll have the privilege of working across various Crimson schools, helping to build opportunities and networks that benefit our entire community. I'll be working closely with Sarah, whose leadership and dedication I want to acknowledge.
