Crimson AGE Open Evening; Barbara Kendall

Barbara Kendall is one of New Zealand’s most iconic athletes, a five-time Olympian, gold medalist, and a powerful advocate for youth development, leadership and resilience. Over the span of her remarkable career, she has consistently embodied curiosity, courage, and the ability to learn from every challenge. Beyond her achievements on the water, Barbara has dedicated years to supporting young people both locally and internationally, encouraging them to embrace growth, follow their passions, and believe in their potential.

At Crimson AGE, these values align closely with the heart of our programme. We believe young people thrive when they are empowered to learn through exploration, creativity, and real-world experiences. Our students are encouraged to take risks, try new things, and reflect on their journeys,  just as Barbara has done throughout hers. Her story of persistence, passion, and lifelong learning mirrors exactly what we aim to inspire and instill in the next generation of innovators.

That’s why we’re incredibly excited to share that Crimson AGE will be hosting Barbara Kendall at our upcoming Open Evening. During her visit, she will be presenting on the topic: “There are two gifts we should be giving our children: one is ROOTS and the other is WINGS.” This powerful message speaks directly to our mission of helping students develop a strong foundation while encouraging them to grow and explore.

This is a unique opportunity for our community to connect with one of Aotearoa’s great role models, hear her insights firsthand and gain inspiration from someone who has spent her life championing youth empowerment. We are honoured to welcome her and look forward to the impact her visit will have on our students and whānau.
